each phd student must complete 12 units of coursework and a phd thesis with original research. to reach the phd candidacy stage, each student should complete two examination papers, one on geographical theory and methodology, the other on one sub-discipline of his/her specialization.

学费：hk$42,100 per annum regardless of the study mode

· 要求：phd applicants should possess a master's degree in geography or related fields and submit his/her master thesis or academic papers. a master's degree from a recognized university; or

· graduated from a recognized university and obtained a bachelor's degree, normally with honours not lower than second class; or

· graduated from an honours programme of a recognized university with a bachelor's degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than "b"; or

· completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honours degree.

admission requirements

the mphil-phd programme consists of mphil and phd streams.

applicants for the phd stream should hold, or expect to hold by the time of admission, a master's degree in science or engineering or related disciplines, or a bachelor's degree in science or engineering or related disciplines, normally with second class honours or overall average result of b or above.

所有硕士-博士全日制学生可申请研究生全额奖学金。获得奖学金的学生需要协助研究生部的教学和研究。在申请入学时，学生必须表明他们是否打算攻读硕士学位。或者攻读博士学位。
