Master of Interpeting

简介 This postgraduate degree is an innovation in interpreting education. It allows students to specialise exclusively in interpreting and is the first time that UNSW has offered this opportunity.
The Master of Interpreting reflects the growing international need for specialists with advanced knowledge and skills in interpreting practice.
要求 Students must meet one of the following selection criteria for entry to the Master of Interpreting:
• Bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline with a record of academic achievement equivalent to a UNSW credit average (65%) and an advanced level of bilingual proficiency.
• Bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in any discipline with a record of academic achievement equivalent to a UNSW credit average (65%), plus one year relevant professional experience* and an advanced level of bilingual proficiency.

Master of Translation
Duration: 1 to 1.5 years full-time (48 or 78 units of credit)
简介The Master of Translation at UNSW is the leading degree in the field, and one of only six translation courses in Australia. It is a NAATI accredited degree to the professional translator level and will train you for work as a translator across a number of specialised areas.
The degree is open to students with and without professional experience. Students who have prior experience will now undertake a streamlined degree of 1 year (48 units of credit) while students with less or no professional experience will study for 1.5 years (72 units of credit).

简介
This course provides both practical and theoretical training in interpreting and translation. It aims to equip students with knowledge of the theoretical aspects that underpin interpreting and translation, including linguistics, and with the research techniques necessary to conduct a small research project in the area of interpreting and translation. It also focuses on practical interpreting and translation skills. The course is suitable for practising interpreters and translators and for very proficient bilinguals wanting to develop or improve their skills, and who wish to contribute to the body of knowledge on interpreting and translation by conducting innovative, much needed research.
Subject to demand, the following languages are available: Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish.
Admission
Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree or postgraduate qualification in any discipline AND
Have native or near-native proficiency in one of the following languages: Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish.

Fluent bilinguals who wish to obtain the theoretical background and acquire the high level skills necessary to practise as a professional interpreter and/or translator will value this course.
Comprising eight units of study, the Master of Interpreting and Translation has a practical professional orientation, geared towards achieving the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters Ltd (NAATI) Professional Interpreter and/or Translator accreditations. Practical components are informed by the theories of Interpreting, Translation and related disciplines and the results of current research.
Subject to demand, the languages available are Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin or Spanish.
