如何成为职场领域的唐晶？

商业分析专业大解析 开篇第一集就说明唐晶职场白骨精的性质，雷厉风行，每天做各种大数据分析并且为企业做决策，那如何成为一名商业分析人才呢？

首先我们了解一下商业分析。 商业分析专业是近年美国新开设的专业，位于美国首府华盛顿DC的乔治华盛顿大学，在2014年开设此专业。南加州大学也是在2014年首次招生Business Analytics专业，麻省理工大学Sloan商学院在16年秋季开始招生第一批学生。

US News目前并没有细化Business Analytics的专业排名，但随着百度、阿里、腾讯、网易等互联网越来越渗入到我们生活中的每一个环节，商业分析专业再次被很多想要出国读书的学子们关注。

什么是商业分析专业呢？

What is Business Analytics? Business analytics is the practice of transforming data into business insights to allow for better decision-making. By employing the latest tools, models and techniques, business analytics can help evaluate complex situations, consider all available options, predict outcomes and present critical risks for business decision-makers. 商业分析专业是通过把数据转换为商业洞察力，更好做决策的实践。通过运用最新的工具、模型、技术，商业分析可以帮助评估复杂状况，综合所有可行选项，预测结果并为商业决策者提供临界风险。 就美国市场而言，根据美国劳工统计局的预测，未来十年里各行业对分析师的需求将不同程度的增长。最为显著的领域是计算机系统、管理和市场研究，岗位需求预计在2024年分别增长20.9%,13.6%, 18.6%。 “By 2018, the United States alone could face a shortage of 140,000 to 190,000 people with deep analytical skills as well as 1.5 million managers and analysts with the know-how to use the analysis of big data to make effective decisions.” （以上数据来自McKinsey Global Institute 麦肯锡全球研究所）

 目前，Business Analytics被定义为STEM专业，对于国际留学生在美国找工作也是一大优势。STEM专业是美国政府为了吸引人才，鼓励学生主修科学、技术、工程和数学领域，并不断加大科学、技术、工程和数学教育的投入，培养学生的科技理工素养，从而提升其全球竞争力。

 留学生毕业之后想找工作就要申请OPT(Optional Practical Training)，有了OPT才可以在美国合法实习、工作。标准的OPT只有一年时间，如果毕业生一年之内无法拿到H1B工作签证，就必须离开美国了。但是STEM专业的毕业生可以申请额外24个月的OPT延期(美国国土安全部发布的有关于“STEM专业OPT延期的最终政策”的文件已于2016年5月10日正式生效！)，等同于他们将拥有总共36个月的OPT时间用来找工作并申请H1B工作签证。

 真心说，是不是被诱惑到啦？立志学习Business Analytics专业的学生，立志在研究生阶段跨专业学习的学生，提前规划好自己在大学四年的课程学习很必要。Business Analytics专业通常设置在商学院，比如：麻省理工大学设置在Sloan商学院、伦斯勒理工学院设置在Lally商学院。也有部分大学例外，比如康奈尔大学设置在Engineering学院，芝加哥大学设置在MBA课程里面。部分大学也会明确先修课要求，下文是乔治华盛顿大学针对Business Analytics专业的先修课要求（Prerequisites）： Successful applicants to GWSB’s MSBA program will have exposure and experience in the following areas: 

 • Statistics 统计 

 Applicants should have taken and obtained a B or higher in an undergraduate or graduate statistics within the last 5 years, be able to demonstrate regular use of statistics in a current or past professional position, or be able to demonstrate an adequate understanding of statistics in another way. 

 • Higher Level Mathematics (Calculus and Linear Algebra) 微积分&线性代数 

 In general, students should be able to demonstrate regular use of mathematics principles and methods and an adequate understanding of calculus and basic linear algebra. Applicants should have taken and obtained a B or higher in undergraduate or graduate level Calculus classes, including Calculus I (MATH1231) and Calculus II (equivalent to MATH1232). In addition, students are expected to have had some academic exposure to topics in Linear Algebra and Finite Math (equivalent to MATH1051). 

 • Computer Programming 计算机编程 

 Applicants should be able to demonstrate adequate exposure to and understanding of basic computer programming and software principles. Applicants need not have a specific understanding of analytics-based computer programs and software. Instead, the goal is for applicants to demonstrate that they are capable of learning the specific programs emphasized in the MSBA program. Applicants may satisfy the above prerequisites through an online offering such as Coursera. （跨专业学生的福音，可以通过Coursera线上课程学习先修课）
