作文要求： All prospective students for pathways in performance must also submit a sample of written work of at least 1,500 words - in English - in addition to the usual supporting documents. This should focus on a musical topic, with academic bibliography and references. 作品集要求： For this pathway, you must also present a 20-minute programme during which you play a varied programme focusing on Western classical repertoire.The audition should include a brief spoken introduction - in English - to the programme, discussing the repertoire performed.Students from the United Kingdom are expected to audition in person, where possible. If you are unable to audition in person or are located overseas, you should submit a video-recorded audition. This is preferably submitted as an internet video link, (e.g., YouTube/Vimeo/Youku or Dropbox/WeTransfer/YouSendIt), with the URL pasted into a text document and uploaded to the application portal.

 作品集要求： MMus (PerformancePathway) - Samples of recorded performance, this should be 2-3 contrasting pieces for a total of 20-30 minutes that demonstrate your technical proficiency, interpretative capacity. Candidates should note that studying at Southampton requires the ability to read at sight and to learn pieces quickly. Please provide these links to performance videos posted via YouTube.

Professional Portfolio. The portfolio provides an opportunity to assess the full range of a student’s activities during their period of study and their reflections on the roles and significance of individual components. The assessment focuses on communication self-management skills and the extent to which students can demonstrate their process of preparation for the profession. Your recorded audition should consist of a video recording lasting approximately 20 minutes Composers must prepare a portfolio of three contrasting works. Scores are required, and recordings may also be submitted if available. All recordings/portfolios must uploaded as part of your online application. Most video formats are accepted, or audio recordings in mp3 format. Links to YouTube videos are also accepted.

 Most Instrumental Performance candidates will be asked to present a varied programme of about 15 minutes duration.
